A water tower with a spherical tank painted as a beach ball, standing on a sandy spit with sea oats and a pier. Pensacola Beach's landmark, and its mood.

The tower at Casino Beach has worn its beach-ball stripes since the 1970s, and the paint job has been redone after every hurricane that tried to take it down. It is the first thing you see coming over the bridge and the thing locals use for directions. The beach itself is sugar-white quartz sand that squeaks when you walk on it.

The tower survived Ivan in 2004 when much of the island around it did not. Repainting it was one of the first signs that the beach was coming back.

A beach ball on a tower says summer all year. On a Christmas tree, in a Florida living room, that is exactly right. The stripes are the tower's own colors.

The Pensacola Beach water tower, the beach ball water tower over Casino Beach, is how everyone knows they have reached Pensacola Beach. This beach ornament is a Pensacola Christmas ornament and Pensacola souvenir, a water tower ornament full of Pensacola history for Christmas in Pensacola.

3-inch faceted crystal glass ornament, white-backed print, line-drawn in 1880s engraving style, your choice of white or gold gift box.

Every Pensacola ornament ships ready to give, and profits support hunger relief. Hang it on the tree, in a window, off a lamp, or send one to the person who misses Pensacola most.

Today Pensacola is a Gulf-coast beach city and a Navy town, proud of its title as America's first settlement, its five flags, and its place as the Cradle of Naval Aviation. Its story runs from the Panzacola bay and Luna's 1559 landing through the permanent 1698 resettlement, the Five-Flags centuries, the 1822 American incorporation, the snapper fleet that fed the country under sail, and the naval aviation born here in 1914 — with both of the bay's lost fleets now found, and still giving up their stories. Our Pensacola designs gather that identity into wearable form — the flags, the wings, the alligator, the white-sand Gulf. Pensacola, Florida — America's first settlement, the City of Five Flags, and the cradle of naval aviation since 1559.

America's first settlement, and the cradle of Navy wings. The Spanish planted a colony on Pensacola Bay in 1559 — six years before St. Augustine — and though a hurricane swept it away, the flags kept coming: five of them, Spanish to French to British to Confederate to American, flown over one stubborn Gulf-coast city. Today Navy jets carve the sky over sugar-white sand, U.S. naval aviators have earned their wings here since 1914, and the bay itself has begun giving up its secrets — two lost fleets, four and a half centuries of story, resting under one sheet of water. This page tells the story.

Why People Visit Pensacola Florida

People come to Pensacola for both halves of it — the beaches and the history. Sugar-white sand and emerald water on the barrier islands, and four and a half centuries of layered story in the old town and the forts, with the naval-aviation heritage overhead and America's oldest settlement story underfoot. It's a Gulf-coast vacation and an American history lesson in one welcoming city.
