A hairpin-curve warning sign on a cliff road, a one-lane bridge and a waterfall behind it, with the small plate that says 620 CURVES. If you drove it, you earned it.

The road to Hāna is 52 miles of coastline that takes most of a day: about 620 curves and 59 bridges, nearly all of them one lane, with waterfalls at the turns and a rule that the car already on the bridge goes first. The signs come at you one after another until they stop being warnings and start being the road's sense of humor.

Hāna itself is small and quiet, which is the point. The drive is the destination, and the sign at the top of the ornament is the one every passenger photographs with a nervous laugh.

A road sign as a souvenir works when the road is the story. This one is, and the red bow on the post is for the people who made it there and back.

The road to Hāna, the Hāna Highway, is the drive every visitor to Hāna, Maui remembers: the curves, the one-lane bridges and the road to Hāna waterfalls. This Maui ornament is for anyone who can say I survived the road to Hāna, a Hāna souvenir and Hawaiʻi ornament that keeps the road to Hāna sign on the tree.

Every Hana ornament ships ready to give. Hang it on the tree, in a window, off a lamp, or send one to the person who misses Hana most.

3-inch faceted crystal glass ornament, white-backed print, line-drawn in 1880s engraving style, your choice of white or gold gift box.

Product FAQs

How does your sizing work?

Every item is made to order, so please check the size chart on this page before you buy. Women's fitted tees run small; size up for a looser fit. Caps are one size with an adjustable strap.

How are items made and when will they arrive?

We make each item to order using premium blanks, embroidery and soft-hand prints. Production takes 2-5 business days (weekends and holidays excluded), then 4-10 days in transit via USPS, UPS or FedEx to U.S. addresses; most orders arrive within 6-15 business days. You'll get a tracking link the moment it ships. Any current shipping offer is shown in the bar at the top of every page and applies automatically at checkout, no code needed.

How do I send a gift?

Enter the recipient's address as the shipping address and your own as the billing address at checkout. Nothing ships with a price; the package includes a plain packing slip. Tracking goes to your email, not theirs. For birthdays and holidays, order two weeks ahead to be safe.

What's the return policy?

Made-to-order items can't be returned or exchanged for size or color, so please use the size chart and photos before ordering. If anything arrives defective, misprinted or damaged, send a photo and your order number within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you.

How do I care for my item?

Apparel: wash cold, inside out, with like colors; no bleach; tumble dry low or hang dry. Embroidered pieces: iron inside out to protect the stitching. Caps: spot clean. Printed glasses and water bottles: hand wash only, no dishwasher, so the artwork lasts. Mugs and engraved glasses are dishwasher safe. Any item-specific care notes are in the description above.

Who makes this?

Merlin Classics is a small Connecticut brand making original retro designs for the towns people love. Every piece is printed, embroidered or engraved to order in the USA, and the business supports hunger relief in the communities our collections celebrate.

That is the bargain Hāna offers. There are no big resorts, no traffic lights, barely a town center — just Hāna Bay beneath Kaʻuiki Head, a few churches and food trucks, the black-sand coast, and the waterfalls. People come the length of the highway for exactly this: a pocket of old Hawaiʻi the island never quite caught up to, where the reward for the long drive is the quiet at the end of it.

Our Hāna logo carries Hawaiʻiʻs hibiscus over ʻHawaiian Kingdom · Est. 1795,ʻ the year Kamehameha I united the islands and founded the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi — the shared emblem of every Merlin Classics Hawaiʻi place. Printed in clean retro black-and-white with the worn look of an old travel decal, the hibiscus reads as the islands in shorthand: warm, oceanic, aloha. What makes this one Hāna is everything behind it — the winding road, the black-sand coast, the waterfalls, and the green windward quiet.

Why People Visit Hāna

People come the length of the highway for the quiet at the end of it: a pocket of old Hawaiʻi with black-sand beaches, waterfalls, and a slow, traditional pace. The drive is the point, and Hāna is the reward — so take it slowly, and travel with respect for a place that has kept old Hawaiʻi close.
