Medium-heavy fleece gives this unisex crewneck sweatshirt its warmth and durability. The classic fit has a ribbed collar, cuffs & waistband, double-needle seams, and a tear-away label, with the design DTG-printed. Standard 8.0 oz 50% cotton/50% polyester; Heather Sport 60/40. Note: White may appear off-white; Orange hue may vary.

Cos Cob is a waterfront village of Greenwich at the lower landing of the Mianus River, where the c.1728 Bush-Holley House stands on a hill over the harbor. The Holleys opened it as a boarding house in 1882, John Henry Twachtman began teaching summer classes there in 1890, and he and J. Alden Weir brought the Art Students League summer school in 1892.

Childe Hassam and Theodore Robinson followed, and the Cos Cob Art Colony that flourished until the 1920s was Connecticut’s first, a birthplace of American Impressionism. The saltbox became a museum in 1958 and a National Historic Landmark in 1991; Hassam’s Red Mill shipyard stood across the water. The mark on this piece is that light on the harbor.

Product FAQs

How does your sizing work?

Every item is made to order, so please check the size chart on this page before you buy. Women's fitted tees run small; size up for a looser fit. Caps are one size with an adjustable strap.

How are items made and when will they arrive?

We make each item to order using premium blanks, embroidery and soft-hand prints. Production takes 2-5 business days (weekends and holidays excluded), then 4-10 days in transit via USPS, UPS or FedEx to U.S. addresses; most orders arrive within 6-15 business days. You'll get a tracking link the moment it ships. Any current shipping offer is shown in the bar at the top of every page and applies automatically at checkout, no code needed.

How do I send a gift?

Enter the recipient's address as the shipping address and your own as the billing address at checkout. Nothing ships with a price; the package includes a plain packing slip. Tracking goes to your email, not theirs. For birthdays and holidays, order two weeks ahead to be safe.

What's the return policy?

Made-to-order items can't be returned or exchanged for size or color, so please use the size chart and photos before ordering. If anything arrives defective, misprinted or damaged, send a photo and your order number within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you.

How do I care for my item?

Apparel: wash cold, inside out, with like colors; no bleach; tumble dry low or hang dry. Embroidered pieces: iron inside out to protect the stitching. Caps: spot clean. Printed glasses and water bottles: hand wash only, no dishwasher, so the artwork lasts. Mugs and engraved glasses are dishwasher safe. Any item-specific care notes are in the description above.

Who makes this?

Merlin Classics is a small Connecticut brand making original retro designs for the towns people love. Every piece is printed, embroidered or engraved to order in the USA, and the business supports hunger relief in the communities our collections celebrate.

Cos Cob is one of the historic villages of Greenwich, a stretch of about four and a half square miles in the town's southwest corner along the Mianus, with neighbors like Riverside and Old Greenwich nearby. It keeps the shape that drew the artists: a small harbor on Long Island Sound, the river sliding past old houses, and a quiet, painterly light that has not really changed in more than a century.

Their home was the Holley House — today the Bush-Holley House — a colonial saltbox built around 1728 on a hill above Cos Cob Harbor where the Mianus River runs out to the Sound. Josephine and Edward Holley ran it as a boarding house, and the students who came to study with Twachtman took rooms there. In 1896 a young painter named Elmer MacRae arrived as one of those students, fell in love with the Holleys' daughter Constant, married her in 1900, and together they kept the boardinghouse going — and the colony alive — for two more decades.

Why People Visit Cos Cob

Cos Cob offers art heritage and green escapes in a small, walkable village. Visitors pair the Bush-Holley House and its Impressionist collection with river paths, harbor overlooks, and quiet historic streets. It is tranquil, residential, and close to the water, with year-round appeal in its parks, paths, and public spaces. History and everyday life sit side by side here, from the saltbox over the harbor to the trails along the Mianus.
