The Pequot Post's onion-globe mark — the one that tops every post — rendered in fine crosshatch on deep navy, with no outer ring and no tagline so the onion itself carries the ornament. This faceted crystal glass (about 3 inches across) round ornament is made for The Pequot Post, contact The Pequot Post directly through their Instagram page with inquiries. Arrives in your choice of white or gold gift box, each tied with ribbon.

Southport Globe Onion. An onion named after a village of about fifteen hundred people, shipped out of its own harbor by schooner, and still listed in seed catalogs today.

Southport is a harbor village on the Connecticut shore that spent the nineteenth century growing onions - not casually, but as its principal business. Local growers developed and fixed distinct varieties, the Southport Globes, in red, white and yellow. The onions were loaded onto schooners at the village dock and sailed to New York and the West Indies, and for a stretch of decades the harbor was busy enough to make the growers wealthy. Onion shoots still grow in the town on lawns and fields every spring.

How do I care for my item?

For apparel: wash cold, inside-out, with like colors; avoid bleach and high heat; tumble dry low or hang dry. For embroidery, iron inside-out to protect the stitching. See specific care instructions in product descriptions and also follow general best practices in caring for your items for long term enjoyment.
