Machamux Farm on an unstructured low-profile cotton dad cap with front embroidery, for the farm whose name is four centuries old. On it, the Machamux Farm mark, a rearing horse over hand-lettered arch type, printed like an old feed-sack stamp, in white.

The embroidered cap is the one that lasts: thread, not ink, on cotton twill with a curved visor and a hideaway strap. It is the hat for the boat, the dog walk and the man who will not buy himself one.

Machamux means the beautiful land. It is the word the Pequot used for the salt marsh, meadows and tidal creeks of what is now Greens Farms, Connecticut, where five English families settled under Fairfield in 1648 and kept the name even as they renamed the place for themselves. The Machamux Boulder still marks the old common, and local legend holds the name was given by a young sachem the colonial record knows as Chickens Warrups.

In 1714 that same man and the sub-chief Naseco conveyed the Lonetown tract to John Read, the purchase at the root of Redding, Connecticut, recorded in a deed that opens Know all men by these crooked Scrawls and Seals and held anyway. Three centuries later the beautiful land's name stands over a working family farm in the Redding hills, and its mark, a black rearing horse over MACHAMUX FARM in hand-lettered arch type, is printed like an old feed-sack stamp on these pieces.

Unisex embroidered dad cap with an unstructured 6-panel, low-profile fit and a Permacurv visor. Made from breathable cotton with a self-fabric hideaway strap and antique-brass buckle, plus a matching undervisor and four-row visor stitching for durability. All colors are 100% cotton; the camo variation is 65% polyester / 35% cotton. Classic embroidered finish — durable and vintage-inspired. Because embroidery uses thread (not ink), slight differences from the digital product image are normal and part of the process. Full details explained in our Embroidery footer.
