The Greenwich women’s fitted tee, for the town that gave American Impressionism its Connecticut light. Slim, contoured ringspun cotton with the Greenwich vintage retro logo on the chest in black, cut for anyone who finds the unisex tee boxy.

The fitted cut is the reason to choose this one over the unisex tee: a longer body, side seams and a slimmer line that still wears soft. It is the Greenwich shirt for the weekend, the reunion and the beach-bag, and it runs small, so size up if you are between sizes.

Women’s fitted ringspun cotton t-shirt with a soft, lightweight jersey feel and a classic crewneck. Slim, contoured fit with a longer body length, side-seam construction, and a tear-away label; this style runs smaller than usual. Solid colors are 100% cotton; select heather/blend shades may include a cotton–polyester mix.

Greenwich was bought from the Siwanoy in 1640 and named for the royal borough of London. On February 26, 1779, General Israel Putnam galloped down Put’s Hill to outrun British cavalry, a ride still shown on the town seal, and the railroad of 1848 began the town’s long run as the flagship of Connecticut’s Gold Coast.

From about 1890 to 1920 Twachtman, Weir, Hassam and Robinson painted the Mianus River and Cos Cob Harbor from the c.1730 Bush-Holley House, the town’s only National Historic Landmark and a cradle of American Impressionism. Greenwich Point’s 147-acre peninsula and four town beaches face the Sound. The mark on this piece is that light.

Production takes 2-5 business days (weekends and holidays excluded), then 4-10 days in transit via USPS, UPS or FedEx to U.S. addresses; most orders arrive within 6-15 business days. How do I send a gift?

Enter the recipient's address as the shipping address and your own as the billing address at checkout. Nothing ships with a price; the package includes a plain packing slip. Tracking goes to your email, not theirs. For birthdays and holidays, order two weeks ahead to be safe.

What's the return policy?

Made-to-order items can't be returned or exchanged for size or color, so please use the size chart and photos before ordering. If anything arrives defective, misprinted or damaged, send a photo and your order number within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you.

How do I care for my item?

Apparel: wash cold, inside out, with like colors; no bleach; tumble dry low or hang dry. Embroidered pieces: iron inside out to protect the stitching. Caps: spot clean. Printed glasses and water bottles: hand wash only, no dishwasher, so the artwork lasts. Mugs and engraved glasses are dishwasher safe. Any item-specific care notes are in the description above.

What's with Putnam's Ride? Look closely at the seal of the Town of Greenwich and you'll find a man on horseback plunging down a cliff. That is "Old Put" — General Israel Putnam, the sixty-one-year-old Revolutionary War general — on the morning of February 26, 1779. By the local account, Putnam was at Knapp's Tavern (today's Putnam Cottage) when British cavalry under General Tryon surprised the town. Cut off from his outnumbered men, Putnam spurred his horse to the brow of a steep rocky slope above the old Post Road — Put's Hill — and rode straight down it, threading the stone face while the dragoons reined up at the top, unwilling to follow. He escaped to raise the alarm. Historians have long debated the exact details, but Greenwich never doubted the spirit of it: the ride is on the town seal, the police patch, and the name of half the landmarks in town. It is the moment Greenwich chose to define itself by — daring to go where no one dared follow.
