The basenji is one of the oldest dog types on earth, a hunter from the forests and villages of central Africa, where sound carries and silence is a skill. It does not bark; an unusually shaped larynx gives it a yodel instead, the famous baroo. It grooms itself like a cat, comes into season once a year like the dingo, and carries almost no dog smell. Dogs of this type were shown at Crufts in 1895 as "African Bush dogs," but lasting English stock only took hold in the late 1930s, and the American Kennel Club accepted the breed in 1943.
Anyone who has shared years with one knows the breed is built from small things: the tidy paws, the sudden burst of speed, the head tilt, the curled-tail swagger. This ornament is for those years. How does your sizing work?
Because items are made to order, we can’t accept returns for sizing or color choices. We do accept returns for defects, misprints, or shipping damage. Please review the detailed photos and descriptions before purchasing. Women’s fitted tees run small; if you prefer a looser fit, consider sizing up.
How do I send gifts?
All items ship without prices and include a simple packing slip for easy gifting. Enter the recipient’s shipping address and your billing address at checkout. How do I care for my item?
For apparel: wash cold, inside-out, with like colors; avoid bleach and high heat; tumble dry low or hang dry. For embroidery, iron inside-out to protect the stitching. We make each item on demand using premium blanks, embroidery, and soft-hand prints. Production usually takes 2–5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). You’ll receive tracking once shipped. What’s the return/exchange policy?
