The Mesquite thank you cards, for the town that is the Rodeo Capital of Texas. Thick-stock cards with the Mesquite vintage retro logo on the front in black, blank inside, envelopes included.

For the note after the weekend visit, the wedding, the graduation or the holidays: thanks that says where it came from. Choose the size, the finish and the count, and keep a box in the drawer so the note goes out the same week.

Our retro logo design on premium thick 270gsm card stock makes these thank you cards feel smooth and substantial. Pick a matte, uncoated, or coated finish, one of two convenient sizes, and the count pack that fits your needs. Envelopes are included, so heartfelt messages are easy to send for any occasion. Cards are printed on the front and blank inside and on the rear.

Mesquite began in May 1873 as a depot town on the Texas & Pacific Railway, named for Mesquite Creek, close enough to Dallas that Sam Bass robbed the train here in 1878 and got away with about $152. It incorporated on December 3, 1887, and laid out its town square in 1901.

The Mesquite Championship Rodeo has run since 1958, which earned the city its official state designation as the Rodeo Capital of Texas; the 1871 Florence Ranch Homestead keeps the farming years, and the old interurban line tied it to Dallas in the 1920s. The Rodeo Capital is the mark on this piece.

Product FAQs

How does your sizing work?

Every item is made to order, so please check the size chart on this page before you buy. Women's fitted tees run small; size up for a looser fit. Caps are one size with an adjustable strap.

How are items made and when will they arrive?

We make each item to order using premium blanks, embroidery and soft-hand prints. Production takes 2-5 business days (weekends and holidays excluded), then 4-10 days in transit via USPS, UPS or FedEx to U.S. addresses; most orders arrive within 6-15 business days. You'll get a tracking link the moment it ships. Any current shipping offer is shown in the bar at the top of every page and applies automatically at checkout, no code needed.

How do I send a gift?

Enter the recipient's address as the shipping address and your own as the billing address at checkout. Nothing ships with a price; the package includes a plain packing slip. Tracking goes to your email, not theirs. For birthdays and holidays, order two weeks ahead to be safe.

What's the return policy?

Made-to-order items can't be returned or exchanged for size or color, so please use the size chart and photos before ordering. If anything arrives defective, misprinted or damaged, send a photo and your order number within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you.

How do I care for my item?

Apparel: wash cold, inside out, with like colors; no bleach; tumble dry low or hang dry. Embroidered pieces: iron inside out to protect the stitching. Caps: spot clean. Printed glasses and water bottles: hand wash only, no dishwasher, so the artwork lasts. Mugs and engraved glasses are dishwasher safe. Any item-specific care notes are in the description above.

Who makes this?

Merlin Classics is a small Connecticut brand making original retro designs for the towns people love. Every piece is printed, embroidered or engraved to order in the USA, and the business supports hunger relief in the communities our collections celebrate.

Our Mesquite logo carries a Texas longhorn — the cattle breed that built the open range — and a Lone Star over "1845," the year of statehood and the shared emblem of every Merlin Classics Texas place. Printed black-and-white with the worn look of a branding iron or an old rodeo poster, the longhorn and star read as Texas in shorthand: cattle country, the Lone Star, the open prairie. What makes this one Mesquite is the place behind it — the 1873 rail depot, the Sam Bass robbery, and the Rodeo Capital the prairie town became.

Today Mesquite is a major Dallas suburb of more than 150,000 on the eastern edge of the Metroplex, but its character still runs back to the railroad: a depot town named for a prairie creek, an 1878 train robbery, and a Rodeo Capital identity it has carried since 1958. Our Mesquite designs gather that into wearable form — the rail town, the outlaw country, the Rodeo Capital, the longhorn-and-star. From the old T&P depot to the Saturday-night chutes — wear a little of real North Texas.
