What's with Greens Farms? Greens Farms is Westport's oldest corner — Machamux, the beautiful land of the Pequot, settled by five Bankside Farmers in 1648 and never renamed in spirit since. It is a shoreline village of salt marsh, stone walls, and old trees, holding Connecticut's first state park at its western edge and three and three-quarter centuries of memory under its lawns.

The Machamux Boulder on the old Common still marks the 1648 settlement — a village older than its town, named by the census in 2020.
