A keepsake of Fátima for the tree. The tall white tower of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary with its gold crown, the great colonnade sweeping around the sanctuary, and in front the three shepherd children in white stone, heads bowed in prayer. A meaningful gift for a Catholic mom or grandmother, for anyone who has made the pilgrimage, and for families who keep Our Lady of Fátima close.
In 1917, at the Cova da Iria outside the village of Fátima, three young shepherds, Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto, reported that Our Lady appeared to them on the 13th day of six months running, from May to October. On October 13 a great crowd gathered for what became known as the Miracle of the Sun.
The basilica rose on the site from 1928, and the sanctuary now welcomes pilgrims from all over the world. Francisco and Jacinta were canonized by Pope Francis at Fátima on May 13, 2017, the hundredth anniversary of the first apparition, and they rest in the basilica pictured here.
The drawing is our own, in the manner of an old engraving: the basilica, the colonnade and the statue of the three children in fine black-and-white line, with the tower's gold crown as the only color. It is set in a three-inch faceted crystal round, white-backed so the lines stay crisp against a lit tree or a window, and comes in a white or gold gift box.
For Catholic families, godparents and pilgrims, and for anyone who prays the Rosary. Profits support hunger relief.
