This is our retro Wellington, Florida logo, printed in weathered charcoal on a retro vintage washed cap — an unstructured cotton dad hat that looks broken in from the day it arrives. The charcoal carries a faint wavering tone and a light speckle, so the print reads like it has been in the sun as long as the cap has.

The cap is 8.5 oz 100% cotton twill, enzyme washed and heavily brushed for a soft hand, with an unstructured six-panel crown, a mid-profile fit and a curved bill. A self-fabric strapback with a metal slider adjusts the fit and tucks away, and a self-fabric sweatband lines the inside. It is garment dyed with OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes, so every cap's color varies slightly — washed here means faded color and a weathered print, not distressed or frayed.

  • 100% cotton twill, 8.5 oz, enzyme washed and brushed
  • Unstructured six-panel crown, mid profile, curved bill
  • Self-fabric strapback with metal slider
  • One size fits most — hat sizes 6¾ to 7⅝
  • Logo printed in charcoal with a weathered tone
  • Hand wash cold, air dry; made to order

One size fits most, so it is an easy gift to get right: no size to guess, only the town. Each cap is made to order. Hand wash cold and air dry, and keep it out of the dryer. As with everything we make, profits support hunger relief.

Wellington is the self-styled Winter Equestrian Capital of the World — at the height of the winter season some 20,000 horses are stabled in the village, served by 700-plus horse farms.

And every January the world arrives. For roughly twelve to thirteen weeks each winter, Wellington becomes the center of international horse sport — show jumping, hunter/jumper, and dressage in the show rings, and Sunday polo on the club fields — with riders from all fifty states and more than thirty countries, and some twenty thousand horses stabled across the village's seven hundred-plus farms. The Winter Equestrian Festival anchors the season, and an entire winter economy of grooms, trainers, vets, and farriers moves in with it. The strawberry fields are long gone, but the harvest never left; it just changed shape.

Why People Visit Wellington Florida

Wellington is the Winter Equestrian Capital of the World and one of South Florida's most distinctive towns: a place built on the reclaimed swampland of a Harvard aviator's Flying Cow Ranch, the one-time world's largest strawberry patch, now home to tens of thousands of horses every winter. It blends horse-country culture with Everglades-edge wildlife preserves and wetland parks — show jumping, dressage, and polo on one side, boardwalks and birdwatching towers on the other. From the C.O.W. ranch and the strawberry fields to the bridle trails and the polo grounds, history and everyday culture sit side by side. Strawberry patch to horse country. The winter capital of the riding world.
