This is our retro Sarasota, Florida logo, printed in weathered charcoal on a retro vintage washed cap — an unstructured cotton dad hat that looks broken in from the day it arrives. The charcoal carries a faint wavering tone and a light speckle, so the print reads like it has been in the sun as long as the cap has.

The cap is 8.5 oz 100% cotton twill, enzyme washed and heavily brushed for a soft hand, with an unstructured six-panel crown, a mid-profile fit and a curved bill. A self-fabric strapback with a metal slider adjusts the fit and tucks away, and a self-fabric sweatband lines the inside. It is garment dyed with OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes, so every cap's color varies slightly — washed here means faded color and a weathered print, not distressed or frayed.

  • 100% cotton twill, 8.5 oz, enzyme washed and brushed
  • Unstructured six-panel crown, mid profile, curved bill
  • Self-fabric strapback with metal slider
  • One size fits most — hat sizes 6¾ to 7⅝
  • Logo printed in charcoal with a weathered tone
  • Hand wash cold, air dry; made to order

One size fits most, so it is an easy gift to get right: no size to guess, only the town. Each cap is made to order. Hand wash cold and air dry, and keep it out of the dryer. As with everything we make, profits support hunger relief.

Today Sarasota is known for two things at once: a Gulf-coast arts capital of museums, gardens, and theaters, and the white-sand beaches of Siesta and Lido Keys. Our Sarasota designs gather that identity — the alligator-and-1845 emblem, the Gulf coast, and a coastal art-print line for the walls — into wearable and framable form. From the circus capital to the arts capital, on the white sands of the Gulf — wear a little of Sarasota's Florida history.

Long before the circus arrived, Sarasota was a small settlement on the bay — pioneer families farming and fishing the Gulf shore, joined by a colony of Scots in 1885. The town incorporated in 1902 and grew slowly along the waterfront. Then came the 1920s, and a circus magnate with a fortune and a vision, and everything about the place changed.

Why People Visit Sarasota Florida

Sarasota draws a rare mix of arts traveler and beachgoer: a museum and opera town that is also a Gulf-coast resort. Visitors find Old Masters and orchids in the morning and white sand in the afternoon, all within a few miles of the bay. It is cultured, sunny, and unmistakably Florida.
