This is our retro Corpus Christi, Texas logo, printed in weathered charcoal on a retro vintage washed cap — an unstructured cotton dad hat that looks broken in from the day it arrives. The charcoal carries a faint wavering tone and a light speckle, so the print reads like it has been in the sun as long as the cap has.

The cap is 8.5 oz 100% cotton twill, enzyme washed and heavily brushed for a soft hand, with an unstructured six-panel crown, a mid-profile fit and a curved bill. A self-fabric strapback with a metal slider adjusts the fit and tucks away, and a self-fabric sweatband lines the inside. It is garment dyed with OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes, so every cap's color varies slightly — washed here means faded color and a weathered print, not distressed or frayed.

  • 100% cotton twill, 8.5 oz, enzyme washed and brushed
  • Unstructured six-panel crown, mid profile, curved bill
  • Self-fabric strapback with metal slider
  • One size fits most — hat sizes 6¾ to 7⅝
  • Logo printed in charcoal with a weathered tone

One size fits most, so it is an easy gift to get right: no size to guess, only the town. Each cap is made to order. Hand wash cold and air dry, and keep it out of the dryer. As with everything we make, profits support hunger relief.

The Navy arrived in 1941, and naval aviation training has shaped the city ever since — which made it fitting that the Blue Ghost chose Corpus Christi for her retirement. The bayfront grew around her: the Texas State Aquarium next door, the arched Harbor Bridge of 1959 rising over the ship channel, the eight Moorish-styled miradores gazebos strung along the seawall. Downtown, the 1940 Spanish-Colonial cathedral holds the city's oldest name over its doors.

The young port town grew on wool, cattle, and the railroad through the 1870s, then learned the Gulf's temper: the 1919 hurricane devastated the low-lying city and pushed it to build the great seawall, its stepped promenade designed by sculptor Gutzon Borglum. Protection changed everything. The deepwater port opened in 1926, oil was struck in Nueces County in 1930, and the harbor filled with tankers and grain ships. A century on, the Port of Corpus Christi moves more than two hundred million tons a year — the third-largest U.S. port by total tonnage and a leading gateway for American energy exports.

Why People Visit Corpus Christi Texas

Corpus Christi draws people who love the water, the wind, and a deep streak of history on the same coast. It is the Sparkling City by the Sea — home of a WWII carrier you can walk, the longest wild beach in America, a leading Gulf-coast port, and a proud Tejano-cultural heart. Visitors come for the rare combination: a working bayfront, barrier-island shore, the steady Gulf wind that made the bay a windsurfing capital, and the Blue Ghost riding at anchor over it all.
