Ahoy, polloi! The Compo Yacht Club — Westport's "finest institution since 1920", founded the very week the taps ran dry — presents the Commodore's Cap. And before you ask: yes, you qualify. At a club where no member has ever been observed sailing, everybody holds the rank. The cap is the commission.
The burgee — martini, olive to windward — embroidered in proper thread, not printed, stitched straight into enzyme-washed 100% cotton twill that arrives pre-faded, like it's been riding the dashboard of a Wagoneer since the Ford administration. Unstructured six-panel, curved bill, brass slider in the back: the silhouette that never needed improving, in seven washed coastal colors that all look like they've already had a good summer.
Rated for the seawall at all hours, the raw bar, dawn dog patrol, the farmers market, and a three-hour tour of the harbor conducted entirely from a folding chair — brim down, weather rough, resolve unsinkable. It is the club's official position that a member is out of uniform without it. It is the club's other official position that there is no uniform. Both are strictly enforced.
For beach walkers, boat owners, boat wanters, brim-tippers, gift-getters, and anyone whose yacht exists primarily in conversation. Pairs with everything the club makes, because that is the entire point of a cap.
The fine print, read like a tide chart: Comfort Colors 8.5 oz 100% cotton enzyme-washed twill, embroidered burgee, unstructured six-panel, self-fabric closure with metal slider, adjustable, seven colors. Machine wash cold. Made to order in the USA; profits support hunger relief.
Welcome aboard, Commodore. Dues are one olive — hats off when you pay.

Product FAQs
How does your sizing work?
Because items are made to order, we can’t accept returns for sizing or color choices. We do accept returns for defects, misprints, or shipping damage. Please review the detailed photos and descriptions before purchasing. Women’s fitted tees run small; if you prefer a looser fit, consider sizing up.
How do I send gifts?

Use your contact info to receive tracking updates. Orders typically arrive within 6–11 business days—please allow extra time for time-sensitive gifts.
How do I care for my item?
For apparel: wash cold, inside-out, with like colors; avoid bleach and high heat; tumble dry low or hang dry. For embroidery, iron inside-out to protect the stitching. See specific care instructions in product descriptions and also follow general best practices in caring for your items for long term enjoyment.
How are items made and when will they arrive?
We make each item on demand using premium blanks, embroidery, and soft-hand prints. Production usually takes 2–5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). You’ll receive tracking once shipped.
