You worked hard for them. Montauk is a wonderful place to make bad decisions and a terrible place to keep track of them. Some start on the Friday train, some at sunset, and the best ones somewhere after last call. Sunday at The End now runs until Monday morning, and by then your weekend is scattered from the Point to the harbor.

Like the sunset photo you took forty-one times at the same fence. Or the one quick drink that became dinner, then fire pits, then a 4 a.m. pool game with a local who’s been there since 1987. Like the cab to “just East Hampton” that cost more than your first car. Or the third martini you don’t remember ordering, but apparently loved.

Every great Montauk weekend creates two things: memories and documentation. The memories get blurry, but the documentation follows you home. There’s the receipt that suggests you bought dinner for six strangers, the wristband from somewhere you don’t remember entering, and the phone number on a napkin signed just “boat.”

Of course, bad decisions travel. In the Hamptons, rosé becomes a food group. The North Fork wine tour develops diplomatic complications. Fire Island requires an unscheduled overnight. And somewhere on the LIE, around exit 70, you solemnly promise you’ll never do this again. You will.

So keep them all in one place. Meet the Bad Decision Bag: heavy 12 oz cotton canvas, because some decisions weigh more than others. The main zipper is load-bearing; what happens in the bag stays in the bag. The MTK pocket holds the small stuff: the napkin, a phone charger that definitely isn’t yours, and the key to a share house you’ve never seen in daylight. There’s still room for a towel, a change of clothes, and whatever remains of your dignity.

Unpack the evidence and wash cold, though the decisions won’t come out. Every bag is printed to order in the USA, and profits support hunger relief, because even a bad decision bag should do some good. It’s a perfectly sensible bag for people who occasionally aren’t.

The fine print: 18" × 14" × 4.5" (19L), 100% 12 oz heavy cotton canvas, zippered main compartment, front zip pocket, 24.5" self-fabric handles.
